The Starting 5: Must See Prospects at the TABC
The GASO crew names their respective “Starting 5s” for the TABC Live event featuring 5 players each they will be personally advocating for to various college coaches this weekend.
Michael Timmins (@iFilmHoopers)’s Starting 5:
G: Judson Loe (2025) Dripping Springs
Yes. Dripping Springs, don’t know where it’s at? Who cares? Figure it out later. 6’4 with all the alpha you need. Judson Loe is a DUDE! Shooting, athleticism, his frame. You’re Going To Like The Way He Looks.. I guarantee it. - *Men’s Wearhouse*
G: Kenson Anderson (2026) - Tyler Legacy
The lefty guard has it on a string. His ability to stop & pop from any point on the court is insane to watch. The combo guard will fill it up and get anywhere on the court he wants. Looking for a 6’2 bucket getter. Go check out the East Texas kid!
F: Aiden Disu (2025) - Austin St.Michael’s
He’s the perfect power 5 wing. 6 '6 shoots it well, college ready frame, pedigree with big brother Dylan Disu (Texas) he has all the makings for a LOUD weekend.
F: Billy White (2026) - Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial
When’s the last time Corpus produced a power 5 guy? Not sure, but six-foot-7 Billy White has a real chance. Will probably be the best shooter on the court, and he’s just starting to simply figure it out. It’s scary how good he is now, and how good he will continue to get.
C: Deandre Thomas (2025) - Allen
Six-foot-7, long and athletic who gets better every time I watch him. The recruiting is starting to ramp up, and he’s the perfect big man for the way Allen likes to play. With the schedule Allen has, Thomas has a ton of opportunities to showcase he’s a DUDE.
Lyndon Cook (@GASOLyndon)’s Starting 5:
G: Kamden McGilveary (2026) - Fort Worth Eastern Hills
McGilveary has always had the capacity to dominate the flow of games from the lead guard spot and Eastern Hills has the matchups this weekend (Dallas Carter, Empowering Others Prep, Brentwood Christian) for him to shine against top tier competition.
G: Scottie Guillory (2025) - Houston Legacy
In terms of players I think are primed for a breakout weekend, Guillory is one of the first names to come to mind. He’s a smooth scorer that can create shots with ease, and with the smoke that the schedule makers have given Legacy this weekend, he will have the opportunity to show out on the biggest of stages.
W: Steven Ramirez (2025) - Keller
Ramirez has continued his meteoric rise from the high school playoffs into the summer and will have plenty of opportunities to make even more fans among the college coaches in attendance.
W: Reggie Webster (2025) - Mount Pleasant
Webster’s dynamic ability to impact the game in all aspects makes him a must watch this weekend. Six-foot-4 prospects who can rebound, defend, finish and shoot at a high level don’t just grow on trees and I will be directing college coaches in need of versatile wings to Mount Pleasant’s games all weekend.
F: Landon Veal (2026) - Cypress Springs
Coaches need to take advantage of this weekend’s opportunity to get familiar with Veal, as the six-foot-7 floor stretcher has a chance to wind up even higher than his current no.24 slot in the 2026 rankings. With long arms and a pure shooting stroke, it’s no mystery how he’s caught the attention of some power 5 programs already and could potentially add to that number this weekend.
Ryan Massad (@GASOMass)’s Starting 5:
G: J’Den Shields (2026) - Prosper
Do it all prospect that his been under the radar for a little too long. Look for J’Den to fill the entire stat sheet all weekend long.
G: Trent Bowers (2025) - Birdville
Complete player that is tough, makes great decisions, and can score in bunches. Trent is a serious sleeper in the 2025 class.
W: Tyrus Rathan-Mayes (2025) - Houston Legacy
TRM just might be my favorite prospect at the TABC Showcase. TRM is a high IQ point forward that makes plays for others and can dominate in just about anyway that the game presents itself.
W: Isaiah Santos (2027) - Katy Seven Lakes
Santos has showed me time and time again that he is just about winning. Whatever you need, he can provide, rebounding, defense, and shot-making, he does it all.
F: Brady Willis (2026) - Katy
There is a clearly a theme here… I love highly intelligent players and Brady Willis is just that, he is a thinker of the game, and has a knack for feeling out the game, while also producing big time numbers.
Blue Zertuche (@GASOBlue)’s Starting 5:
PG // Jojo McIver (2025) - Killeen Ellison
Speed. Quickness. Decision-Making. McIver can do a lot of things on the floor (including scoring) that has attracted a ton of colleges asking questions and ready to see him.
G // Dyllan Baker (2025) - Friendswood
Every team needs a tough guy who plays with feel, passion, and can score the basketball. Dyllan is one of the prospects that should garner attention this weekend.
SG // Trae Nunn (2026) - Waxahachie
Let’s start by saying he is versatile. His physical ability makes him hard to guard and gives him a definite advantage over the competition - and you can’t miss out on his elite shotmaking ability.
SF // Rayan Fadika (2025) - Katy Jordan
If I get a chance to write about Rayan, I will, and here is my advertisement for him. His overall game is nothing short of powerful and worth watching.
C // Jayden Leverett (2025) - El Paso Chapin
This one is easy. GO OFFER THIS DUDE! I’ve been saying this since last year before his junior season, and now is the time for to see him as a rim-protector, rebounder, and interior scorer.
TABC Live: Marquee Matchups
In this segment the GASO guys preview their most anticipated games of the weekend, featuring some of the state’s most storied programs and highest rated prospects.
Friday | Hebron Arena | 3:20 PM - San Antonio Brennan vs Dynamic Prep
One of about 10 matchups during the 3:20 time slot Friday that could qualify as “must see”, but I’m picking this one thanks to the sheer variety of prospects that will be on display.
Need a game breaker that can run the point? The no.1 player in 2025 Kingston Flemings has got you covered.
Rim protector and elite lob threat? Look no further than Jaden Toombs.
Versatile forward with strong rebounding and playmaking upside? Isaiah Ward.
Smooth scorer that can get buckets in a hurry? Jermaine O’Neal Jr.
You need a shooter? Take your pick from Camden Cowgill, Jaylin Faison or Donovan Criss.
And that’s not even mentioning the likes of Jacobe Coleman, Leroy Kelly, Amari Reed, Talon Todd, Amoni Francis or Delano Tarpley. This matchup is as loaded as it gets. -Lyndon Cook
Friday | SWAC 4 | 5:30 - Argyle vs Katy Jordan
Argyle welcomes High Major prospect, 6-foot-10 Francis Chukwudebelu to the team and he will have the college coaches lined up to see him. Gerald Burris-Llamas will handle the guard duties as they face a Katy Jordan squad with guards who are fast and with scoring power. Katy Jordan will step onto the floor with Elijah Black, Jaden Holt and Rayan Fadika. Big-man Jude Oluokun will have his hands full guarding the powerful Chukwudebelu. Interesting match-up, but I don’t think we will see Kash Polk who is almost recovered from an ACL injury. -Blue Zertuche
Friday | SWAC 3 | 5:30 PM - The Colony vs Houston Bellaire:
This match-up was set to explode already, but then here comes an X graphic From PG BJ Gill saying he’s excited to be playing with Bellaire and all the sudden this is chaos.
I really don’t know who can stop Captain America (Team USA’s) Shelton Henderson, but 2026 Bryce Dixon is wired a tad different so I’ll enjoy that match-up. Get your popcorn ready, Xavier Green & Dakari Spear are ready to lead The Colony in a weekend that might turn them into real loud players in the 5A Space.
Bellaire is a force inside with Anthony Andrews & Henderson, and with the added guard play, look the heck out! -Michael Timmins
Friday | SWAC 4 | 8:45 PM - Denton Braswell vs Wylie East
This match-up of 2026 Jacori Jones of Braswell vs 2025 Parker Overstreet of Wylie East. While this lead guard match-up will sure to deliver, I expect the depth of both teams to shine because of how electric these 2 guards are at creating for others. 2 Of my favorite guards that are so different in the way they pay. Can Jacori Jones be stopped from 3? Can Parker Overstreet be stopped from getting paint touches? Let’s see! -Michael Timmins
Saturday | SWAC 2 | 9:05 AM - Austin St.Michael’s vs Frisco Heritage
I love this game so much! It will make waking up a little easier for you college coaches. First off, I think Aiden Disu has a chance to be the loudest prospect of the weekend. Pair him up with Bo Ogden (the GASO #2 player in 2026) and St. Michael’s is a real problem.
On the other side Frisco Heritage was a little slept on last year and Cameron Lomax & Bryson Howard have been playing pissed off all summer. Look for these two highly ranked 2026 prospects to put people on notice that Frisco Heritage is the Frisco School to keep your eye on next season. -Michael Timmins
Saturday | SWAC 1 | 3:35 PM - Dallas WT White vs SA Antonian
Two strong programs that have reloaded. Two things to watch for:
• How does SA Antonian counter Dallas WT White’s size?
• How does Dallas WT White counter SA Antonian’s speed?
Should be a fun one with prospects all over the court. -Ryan Massad
Saturday | Drive Nation 1 | 4:40 PM - Palestine Westwood vs. MP Chapel Hill
This may be the best matchup of the weekend in 3A and below, featuring 3A’s most recruitable prospect in Westwood’s Kavian Bryant. But this will be no cake walk as Bryant and co. will go head to head with perennial contenders Chapel Hill, boosted by the arrival of new head coach JD Sullivan and his sharpshooting son, Jace. -Lyndon Cook
Saturday | SWAC Court 2 | 5:45 PM - Lewisville iSchool vs. San Antonio Wagner
I like the talent in this one for multiple levels. iSchool will walk on to the court with Jaylen Lawal, Cameron Marks, and David Iweze, among others, while Wagner will have Damien Ramirez, Marcus Johnson and Tre Clark to counter. I can see Coach Rodney Clark eye roll me when I say that his Wagner Thunderbirds should be one of the pre-season top teams in the state in 5A and could very well be a State Contender, but this will be no easy task. Brian Nwelue has put together a roster that will compete with the best around the State and Nation. -Blue Zertuche
Sunday | SWAC 1 | 9:05 AM - Richardson vs Beaumont West Brook
Two teams who were no strangers to the 6A Top 25 last season and have a more than fair amount of talent returning? Sign me up. Elijah Garrett has been one of the biggest standouts of the grassroots circuit thus far and I’m excited to see how he will stack up against the likes of Parker Scott and the Richardson backcourt. -Lyndon Cook
Sunday | SWAC 2 | 2:30 PM - Dynamic Prep vs Houston St. Francis
An in-game matchup I have longed for is Nigel Walls vs Jaden Toombs. Not to mention all the other ridiculous talent on the floor. This game has 13 prospects from our scouting service and has the makings to be a great one. -Ryan Massad
Sunday | Hebron Arena | 3:30 PM - Amarillo vs Red Oak
This will be one of those match-ups that features totally different styles. Red Oak will try to pressure the ball and speed up the game, while Amarillo will pass the ball around and try to pick apart their opponent while on offense. Amarillo is led by Zach Brown who is one of the state’s best shooters, while Red Oak’s Devan Kirk looks to gain momentum in his recruiting. -Blue Zertuche
