GASO’s Ultimate TABC Live Period Recap
The TABC Live Period is the best weekend in the nation for recruiting and evaluating prospects, I’m not breaking any new ground by saying that. But every year that this thing continues to grow and the field of teams and college coaches attending expands, it really hammers home the gravity of TABC weekend.
The college basketball recruiting world stops for these 3 days. By our count, TABC saw over 380 different college coaches this weekend. Some coaching staffs sent 5 or more coaches to recruit Texas. Dozens of players received offers (with hundreds playing themselves into real college interest), and we even saw some on the spot commitments this weekend.
It was a celebration of everything good about Texas High School basketball and the entire nation had to take notice.
And as always, GASO did our best to undertake the Herculean task of covering this 522 team gauntlet. Our staff was courtside everywhere from Duncanville to Mansfield getting eyes on the best talent in Texas - with plenty of talking points and observations to share from what we saw during the TABC.
Let’s dive into our coverage with all-tournament teams, before sharing weekend MVPs, our “Leveling Up” Starting 5’s, and our annual Way Too Early Top 10 rankings for the big school levels.
